This Week in the Spotlight...



  1. Make a Difference Day 2014
      Make a Difference Day
    The Town of Wickenburg will hold a "Make a Difference Day" where you can come out to help some elderly, disabled or low income citizens of Wickenburg.  These residents need some help cleaning up their yard or doing some minor repairs.  Anyone over 12 years old is welcome to come out and help on March 28th.  We will meet at Town Hall at 7:00 am, then go out to the Wickenburg West subdivision.  Please bring work gloves and yard tools, if you have them.  If you have questions, please contact Steve Boyle, Community Development and Neighborhood Services Director at 928-684-5451 x512.

    In addition, Cops Who Care Easter Egg hunt will be on March 28th at 9:00 AM at Coffinger Park.  Guys Who Grill will be at the Community Center from 11:30 - 2:00 on March 28th.  The Parks department will also have a Parents Afternoon Out for the kids inside the Community Center on March 28th from 11:30 - 2:00 for ages 4-12 for $5 per participant.  Register online for the kids event.



  2. Bed Tax
    The Town Council of Wickenburg, Arizona will consider adopting a resolution on June 1, 2015 to amend Chapter 9A Tax Code, Article IV Privilege Taxes, Section 9A-447, increasing the Transient Lodging Tax by 1%, changing it from 2% to 3% with the new rate taking effect on July 1, 2015.

    “Transient” is defined as a person who obtains lodging space on a daily or weekly basis regardless of the total period of time, or on any other basis for less than 30 consecutive days.  This classification applies to hotels, motels, inns, homes, dude ranches, resorts, campgrounds, apartments, mobile home properties, or any other space occupied, intended, or designed for occupancy by transients.
